In February 2016 Lights & Bushels presented a new adaptation of Charles Dickens' The Chimes. Not as well known as his other "Christmas" novels (The Chimes is actually set on New Year's Eve), the play introduced us to poor Trotty Veck, and some of the characters he meets on the last day of the year - including the spirits of the chimes! Written by Barry Syder, the play was performed in the Causeway Barn and featured recordings of the bells of St Mary's Church.

I welled up at one point and an amateur production has never made me do that. However I shouldn't use the word amateur because the whole production came across incredibly professional.
